Isaac Newton

This blog is about Isaac Newton . About his life his accomplishments and discoveries. He was born on Christmas Day, 1642. He actually had two birthdays because they used two calenders back then. He was a philosopher, Astronomer, Mathematician, and physicist. He was actually a Sir he was knighted by a Queen for all he has done for the world.

Isaac Newton didn't have a father growing up because a month before he was born his father had died. He was also born premature and after he was born his mother gave him to his grandparents to be raised and she left for some old dude. He grew up in in a place called Woolsthrope. He went to collage at Cambridge but he mother came back one day and took him to the family farm were she wanted him to be a farmer like his dad. He didn't like farming and went back to his studies at the school. One day when he was at the apple garden in Woolsthrope he saw a apple falling from a tree. Later he began to think of the moon and if it was the same thing.
He built his own telescope in 1669 because at the time the telescopes were bad and it would lose color and the pic would be weird. So he built his own and gave one to the Royal Society. He worked with money too he would find counter fit peaces. He was also elected president every year he was there tell his death. He was buried at Westminster Abbey.
So BYE EVERYONE. Hope you liked the blog and bye again.

Heat

Hi today's blog is about Heat. Heat is very very important to us. It is what keeps us from freezing to death. Heat is someone or something warm.

       Heat can be
transferred by radiation, conduction, convection. Radiation would be an exsample of electromagnetic waves so like the suns waves hiting Earth. Conduction would be transferd by molecular collisions. Convection would be transfer by circulation of a fluid.

A conductor is something eletricly charged. Some objects are good and bad conductors like fur, feather, and plastic foam are bad conductors. Why you may ask well here is why fur and feather have no free electrons in there outer orbit they are busy doing jobs like being shared betwenn two atoms. Plastics, whose molecules are made from long combinations of carbon and hydrogen atoms, have few or no free electrons. This means that plastics are poor conductors of electricity

 .

Have you ever wondered why blankets keep you warm well here is why blankets keep you warm. They keep in your body heat to stay in the blanket so the warm feeling is your body heat.

Time for fun
facts
. According to Nasa, when the temperature reaches 95F our work output drops by 45 percent.  On average, heat waves kill more people than any other natural disaster in the U.S. About 1,000 people a year die in the U.S. from the heat. The heat stored by roofs, pavement, and concrete structures can raise the night temperature in cities by as much as 22 degrees.

OK that is all. I hope you liked the blog comment what you think and good bye everyone

KIller Hornets

HELLO everyone today is about killer Hornets. If you did not like yellow jackets you will hate these. It is so much worse than a yellow jacket. It was introduces to us about 20 years ago but there were so little of them none cared. Know its around the world every country has these Hornets.

This bee is 10 times the sized of the yellow jacket most likely even bigger than 10 times the sizes. If one of these Hornets stings you it will dissolve you skin and it will also release a scent/acid that tells the other Hornets to sting you. These Hornets are so aggresive that they wont stop stinging you tell you are dead. Even after you are dead they will still sting. These Hornets will also go and seek yellow jackets and take over there nest. They will raid the yellow jacket nest and kill of of the jackets.

In Asia these Hornets are popular there are a lot of them over there. They have begun to kill people and it rises everyday the amount of people who die. In China these Hornets are so bad that 42 people died. They have no idea what to do with the Hornets. People are starting to killing them none stop. There are burning them smashing them.

I thought this was a vary interesting topic i had no idea about them tell i started this. I think this is very important to know about encase you ever see one not to touch it. I hope you liked the blog and learned about these Hornets and hope you never get sting by one of theses.

Kinetic and Potential Energy

Hi today's blog is Kinetic and Potential energy. The picture on the right is just to get your attention. So I hope you know nothing about Potential and Kinetic energy.

Lets start with what it is energy is something or someone giving off power. Potential energy is something that is going to have energy like a this truck before it got smashed. Kinetic energy is when something is moving like the truck getting smashed.

Kinetic energy can be transferred when two objects collide. Like when a car hits a car. Energy and not be created or destroyed but it can be transferred or stored. The amount of energy an object has is due to its mass and speed. To get the most potential energy an object has to go high in the air when an objects goes high in the air it has the most energy. So if two books on a bookcase are side by side  the one with the most wieght would have the most potential energy. The one with less wieght would have less energy.

Hope you liked the blog. Comment what you think of the blog. So thats all today BYE.

States of Matter

HI today i'm going to blog about the States of Matter. I'm going to be talking about the three states of matter and how it changes states and a lot of other info on matter. Has you can see in this pic it shows you how it gets to the other states by adding heat and energy.

First i'm going to tell you what matter is in the first place its anything and everything that takes up space.  To change a state of something you have to decrease or increase the temperature. The boiling point is when a liquid gets heated up and boils . The melting point is when a solid turns to a liquid. Like when an ice cube melts and turns into water. When something changes state it does not change its atoms and things like that. Now you know what the melting point is and boiling point and matter lets talk about states of matter. Solid is a fixed shape and the molecules are tightly packed together. Liquid is not a fixed shape and it takes the shape of the container its in. The molecules in a liquid are tight but able to move around. Each liquid has its own special boiling point and melting point like water has a 0C melting point and a 100C boiling point. Gases molecules are spread out and bouncing around it also has no fixed shape.

Sublimation is when a solid go's into a gas skipping the liquid state. An example of sublimation is dry ice .Condensation is when a gas go's into a liquid. On this pictures it shows that air hits the glass and the glass is cold so it turns the air into water. Heat of vaporization is the amount of heat required to convert a unit mass of a liquid at its boiling point into vapor without an increase in temperature. Heat of fusion is when you turn a solid into a liquid without increasing the temperature.

I hope you liked the blog. The blue and underlined words are links to where I got some info or pics so click on them. Comment what you think of it. So bye people bye.

WORLDS BIGGEST VOLCANO

HI this blog is about the worlds biggest volcano. You think it would be above ground but you are wrong. Its in the ocean its called the Tamu Massif its 2 miles down in the Pacific Ocean.

Scientist thought it was a bunch of volcano's squished together but its not just one big volcano. The volcano is roughly 11.580 miles wide and 18.6 miles tall, but only the tip of the volcano is visible to us because its so low. The volcano sits on top of a skin of rock so the volcano sinks into the rock so it so low no one has ever seen the bottom in person they send robots.

It is dated to be 145 million years old and 50 times the size of Hawaii's famous Mauna Loa. This volcano's is special in its shape when you think of a volcano you think of an up side down cone but this one is like and bowl. It has erupted several times and its like sheets of lava that are up to 75 feet thick. It does not only spite out lava from the top its like a vents in a building air go's throw all vents well the volcano has vents and spites lava out of all those so up down side ways. When the volcano erupts the quick cooling of the water makes the lava go to rock and add on to the volcano so it nonstop growing. They thought a million years ago that it once could of been an island but there is not any evidence.

Well I hoped you learned something cool and that volcano's can be under water. Comment what you think hope you liked it. By the way the red and blue under lined word it a link!

Chemical Bonds

Hey! Chemical Bonds do you know anything about it. I hope not because that is what the blog is about. So i'm going to explain atoms structure such as shells, nucleus, etc.

So atoms have a structure like any other thing. So lets start with the center like the heart of an atom its called the nucleus. The nucleus contains the protons and neutrons. After the nucleus is the shells which is a circle around the atom that the electrons fly around. and the cloud its the space that the electrons fly around its different from the shell the shells are the layers of electrons. The cloud is the space for them to fly in.

Each atom has a certain number of electronic shells. Each shell has different amount of electrons. First one is two then 8, 18, 32, 50. 72.

A stable atom is when the shells are full with electrons its happy, but doesn't want to give up any electrons. So an unstable atom is when it doesn't have a full shell of electrons so it will take or share electrons.

A chemical bond is when 2 or more atoms join together. So H20 is a bond. There are different types of bonds like ionic and covalent bonds. An ionic bond is when a positive and negative atom join together. A covalent bond is when the atoms share electrons.

Comment what you think hope you liked it. BYE!!!

Periodic Table

HEY PEOPLE. OK today I am going to talk about the Periodic Table. In a simple way it is just a chart of elements. Here's a little fun fact there are a total of 118 elements and the person who made the chart that we use today is Dmitri Mendeleev's. One more fun fact is that any element over 92 can only be created in a lab.

When you look at the table there is numbers and letters. The numbers in the top of each square are atomic number. The atomic number is equal to the number of protons in an atom's nucleus. The atomic number determines which element an atom is. The number on the bottom is the atomic mass of the element. The one or more letters in the middle are the abbreviation for the element for a example Nitrogen it's atomic number is 7 and the abbreviation is just N.

The periodic table is is 3/4 metals. Periods are horizontal rows, and groups are vertical row's. In the middle are the metals like copper and gold. Then at group 18 is is gases like neon and the others are alkali metals.

Dmitri Mendeleev's is the creator of the modern table of elements. He was smart and left space for the elements he thought we would find. He figured out a pattern in the elements and put empty spaces there. If you are wondering what he looks like here is a pic of him.

Here is some facts about metals. Transition Metals such as iron and strong and shiny. Poor Metals such as lead are soft and have a low melting point. Seminetals such as silicon conduct electricity, but only under certain conditions  also useful in electronics.

Well I hope you found this informational and didn't put you to sleep. Btw the red underlined words are links. Remember this is has easy as Wumbo Logic.

Compounds,Mixtures, and Elements

HEY PEOPLE back with another blog. This time I'm going to explain compound mixtures and elements. Wait don't forget about heterogeneous and homogeneous. So lets start with compounds are you ready well I don't care if you are not.

OK so compounds they are two or more elements bond together. It  For a compound a chemical change takes place. Compounds do not contain there individual properties once becoming a compound. Not only does the properties change the appearance changes. For an example water its two hydrogen and one oxygen, but you probably already knew that.

Now lets go into mixtures for an example chocolate and milk mix those together what do you get chocolate milk. Unlike compounds mixtures are a physical change, and unlike compounds each of the substance keeps its properties. You could sometimes split up the mixture (depending if its a heterogeneous or a homogeneous, but we will get to that later for now lets say its a salad)  we could be able to split up the salad of its ingredients.

Know lets get into the heterogeneous and homogeneous. Homogeneous is like if you put sugar in tea you would not be able to see it. It would have dissolved. That's why in the example in the paragraph above I said it depends. Now Heterogeneous is where its not completely combined. Think of a hamburger you will be able to split it up the meat, cheese, lettuce etc... then each ingredient is separated.

Well thank you for reading this hope it helped if you were confused or just wanted to know about this. If you just didn't that's OK. I will probably post again soon and don't forget to WUMBO SCIENCE.

ATOMS OF THE WORLD

HEY PEOPLE. Ever wonder what makes up everything and why water is water and things like that Probability not. Well I'm going to explain atoms and molecules and things like that know. Why are you explaining this you might ask my answer because I can.

Atoms are the smallest component of an element having the chemical properties of the elements. It consists of protons, neutrons, and one or more electrons. The nucleus which is in the middle of the atoms makes up more than 99.9% of the mass, but only a trillionth of its total volume. More than 99.9% of an atom volume is empty space. If an atom nucleus were the size of an basketball its electrons would be zipping around several miles away.  The nucleus is held together by a strong force which is 1038 times stronger then gravity.

A Greek philosopher Democritus who asked “Could matter be divided into smaller and smaller pieces forever, or is there a limit to the number of times a piece of matter could be divided.

Two different types of atoms can bond together to make molecules. Water is a molecule it is two hydrogen and one oxygen for short H20. Another molecule is H2O2 which is hydrogen peroxide.

The Periodic Table list all the elements that are known to human. There are 117 elements on the Periodic Table. It also says its atomic number which is the small number in the top of the element box.

Well that's the end. I hope you liked it and I will be posting again soon. If you didn't read it that's fine because you visited my page and that's another view for me.
